If your application for the Children’s Grant, the Disability Grant, or the Older Persons Grant has been accepted, you might be wondering when you will get your grant payment for October 2023. The SASSA payment dates for these three specific grants are listed below (other social grant kinds are paid shortly after these payments).
Grant recipients can get their money at any time after the payment date (even if you don’t take it out on the actual payment date, the money will still be there).

The Disability Grant and any grants associated with these accounts is set for October 4, 2023.
All other grants (Child Support Grant, Care Dependency Grant, Foster Child Grant, War Veterans Grant) is set for 5 October 2023.
The SRD grant will be paid between October 25 and October 31, 2023 (recipients must verify their status for the precise date since monies take two to three days to appear in their accounts after processing).
NOVEMBER 2023 SASSA GRANT PAYMENT DATES
The payment date for the Older Persons Grant (and any grants connected to these accounts) is November 2, 2023.
The Disability Grant will be paid on November 3, 2023, along with any grants associated with these accounts.
On November 6, 2023, all other grants—including those for foster children, war veterans, and care dependents—will be paid.
The SRD grant will be paid between November 24 and November 30, 2023 (recipients must verify their status for the precise date; after being processed, monies take two to three days to reflect).

The payment date for the Older Persons Grant (and any grants connected to these accounts) is March 5, 2024.
The Disability Grant will be paid on March 6, 2024, along with any grants associated with these accounts.
On March 7, 2024, all other grants—including those for foster children, war veterans, and care dependents—will be paid.
The SRD grant will be paid between March 25 and March 29 of 2024 (recipients must check their status for the precise date; after processing, funds take two to three days to reflect).

HOW TO PAY FOR A GRANT
Using your SASSA gold card at any bank ATM
The stores Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer, and USave are among the collection points.
Waiting a few days to collect your grant money will save you hours of time standing in line to receive your funds and will help you avoid the long lines on payment dates.
TIPS FOR PAYMENT SAFETY
Here are some guidelines for staying safe when receiving your grant:
- Make sure no one is watching you or following you by looking around.
- Regularly check your bank balances and report any incorrect deductions or amounts.
- As soon as your transaction is complete, leave the ATM.
- Be wary of strangers who ask you to complete or close your transaction because they were unable to do so themselves; they might be trying to skim your card.
- Take your time and carefully complete your transaction.
- As soon as you receive your card and cash, put them away before leaving the ATM.
SASSA GOLD CARD
The SASSA gold card works just like a standard bank card; you can use it to withdraw cash from an ATM and pay for things at a till. To prevent their funds from being withdrawn in the event that their gold card is lost or stolen, grant recipients should set up a PIN for the card. The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has given its approval to the SASSA gold card.
Following each month’s payment of your SASSA social grant, the funds are kept on your SASSA gold card until you are ready to use them. Although you can still use your gold card through December 31, 2023, you should go to your local Post Office to get a replacement if it has expired.
